JOB CENTRE PROGRAMME

The centre runs a job centre programme where unemployed people are registered and assisted with job placement. No fee is required. Further training is also provided to enable them use information technology in accessing job opportunities through internet and customized in-house Job portal. Jobseekers also acquire the skill necessary to staying at jobs and not lose their employment few months after placement.

Our Services are personalized and responsive to individual needs.

The strategy is geared towards helping people on a case-by-case basis, working with individuals to work out the barriers preventing them from finding work and building plan for overcoming those barriers. It is this kind of methodical and personal approach that will help people not simply to find work but equally find the type of work they are best suited for.

The centre act as a central hub for combating the many different reasons that lead to people ending up unemployed after initial placement, unskilled beneficiaries may be further moved to advanced training to be fully prepared for the world of work.

How job-seekers are assisted-

CASE FILE

After profiling, case file is opened for a job-seeker containing a copy of updated CV, Proof of Qualification/ experience, ID copy, proof of Residence and completed signed job-seekers form. Please provide the above documents.

Training

Every job-seeker goes through life skills trainings based on their PDP {personal development plan}. Training includes the following:

    • Job preparedness training- 1 days
    • Basic computer training- 2 weeks
    • Job portal use training-1 day
    • Basic office equipment training-2 days
    • Time and workload pressure management-1 day
    • Teamwork skills-1 day
    • Understanding your Job and work environment-1 day
    • Keep / change your job training- 1 day

Other services

Computer and Internet accessAll jobseekers are given access to the computer to use internet for Job searching, educational and research purposes.

Newspapers – made available daily for Job-seekers to read and search for employment opportunities.

Job notice boardadvertises job opportunities through the notice board.

Fax receipt– We receive faxes for clients (10 page limit) .

Copy machine we make free copies (for registered beneficiary jobseekers)

Public telephone -for toll free number

Printing– Assist with printing of Documents

Bursries, learnership, internships and EPWP – qualified Job-seekers are placed on Learnership, internship or EPWP {Expanded public works programme} programme with stipend, for them to gain work experience.

Employment agencies– we have network of employment agencies that assist in matching and placing Jobseekers to employment.
